Chris Carey is an artist based out of Perth, Western Australia. Art runs deep in the family with his Great Grandfather a successful oil painter and Great Grandma a pottery artists. No talent has been wasted with Chris's sister Melissa, an established Contemporary Artist based on the east coast, sculpting and painting her way to success. With this knowledge and guidance, Chris has developed many self taught skills and techniques for his artwork. As an emerging artist Chris hopes to soak up everything that he learns only to create moving, brilliant and beautiful artwork.
Starting out from street graffiti, Chris has evolved his style and focuses on character designs, cartoons and anime style murals using spraycans.
When in high school and completing a photography course, Chris has continued his passion for capturing the best moment in time throughout his adulthood. Not stopping there, wanting to seek the most out of life, Chris has shot photos from all around the world, taking beautiful landscapes, beautiful sunsets and floating clouds whilst traveling through 7 different countries.
Chris has a strong passion for street art and graffiti here in Perth, snapping photos lasting 10 years or more. Dedicating his time and effort into his instagram page, thousands of photos will be documented with futures hopes of a hard copy book and gallery shows to follow.
"There is something magical pouring all the colours into a cup and watching it create its own cosmic world right in front of you, all you have to do is guide it into a masterpiece." Chris replied after being interviewed for his new found passion for Acrylic Pouring/Fluid Art. Once spending time in his kitchen, he moved into a studio and began to experiment. Mentored by Studio 281 Gallery, Chris Organised his very own gallery exhibition with 2 other friends in 2021, this successful show is only the beginning for his career.
