Western Areas Mining
Starting my career with this huge large scale mural I completed for Western Areas Mining, located 430ks East of Perth at their Forrestania Nickle Project. I was asked to brighten up the Emergency Training Facility Area and help protect some of the buildings from the harsh weather.
It all started with arriving at night time and setting up the projector to chalking up the design. Projecting the image on such a large scale and making sure all the proportions were correct took us about 3 hours. The next day with the help from ERT Senior member Rob operating the EWP machine, we were able to finish the whole character. Working with all the elements of the wind, over spray problems, the heat from the sun, were challenging but I was able to learn quickly, adapt and power through.
It took me about 3 days to paint the huge yellow fireman character and a further 4 days to paint the grey other wall.
